EMILY CURRENT and MERITT ELLIOTT / STYLISTS

Emily Current and Meritt Elliott are the celebrated Los Angeles-based duo known for their whimsical and timeless sensibility that recalls classic Americana.  Working together for over a decade, Emily and Meritt are filling a creative void in the fashion industry.  They are revered for their success as designers, stylists, and, most recently, acting as consultants for brands in need of a fresh perspective. As well recognized fashion figures and style authorities, Emily and Meritt offer guidance and advice to growing companies by lending their expertise and overall creative vision thru styling, art direction, branding, merchandising, marketing and advertising.

Since 1999, Emily and Meritt have dressed an array of celebrities for red carpet events and everyday looks.  Soon after hitting the scene, W magazine commended their talent, noting that "their instinct is dead on." Today, the pair works with a host of stylish Hollywood starlets, including Emma Roberts, Mandy Moore and Sophia Bush, dressing them for red-carpet affairs and everyday looks. Hillary Kerr and Katherine Powers, founders of the ever-popular fashion blog WHO WHAT WEAR, observe: "Their finished looks are almost like the styling equivalent of a Sofia Coppola film or a Jenny Lewis album: deeply personal, a little quirky, and completely wonderful."

In addition to their work as stylists, Emily and Meritt are also regarded for their denim brainchild, the immensely popular brand CURRENT/ELLIOTT, which launched in 2008. The wild success of the line, which is favored by Hollywood A-listers like Reese Witherspoon and Mary-Kate Olsen, earned Emily and Meritt the label of "the masterminds behind the boyfriend jean," according to ELLE Magazine. Indeed, Vogue called CURRENT/ELLIOTT "the most refreshing denim line to come out of LA's jean scene in a long, long time."

Building upon their accomplishments as denim designers, the twosome collaborated with kate spade new york in 2011 to create a capsule collection of handbags, aptly named "Westward by Emily and Meritt for kate spade new york." Kate spade's creative director Deborah Lloyd told Women's Wear Daily that she selected them for their "great spirit" and because they "epitomize the chic, West Coast vibe."

Drawn to one another's innate sense of style, Emily and Meritt first met in college and quickly realized the fresh and fearless aesthetic they shared – an affinity for individuality, dressing without rules and mixing high and low with confidence and flair. Whether they're creating memorable outfits for clients, styling unforgettable editorial spreads and advertising campaigns, appearing as fashion experts, or consulting for companies inspired by their distinct world-view, Emily and Meritt always bring a playful, intelligent spirit to whatever they touch.
